New Graduate Nurse & Midwife Program (Transition to Professional Practice)

Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is the largest employer of graduate Registered Nurses and Midwives in New South Wales each year and provides a range of programs that could help you commence your career as a nurse or midwife. SLHD is delighted to be able to work with newly graduated nurses and midwives to facilitate and support their journey of transition to Registered Nurse/Midwife.

We recognise that new graduate nurses and midwives are integral to the continuation of a skilled and valued workforce, both now and in the future. It is important that each new graduate nurse/midwife has a consistent and positive experience that maximises learning opportunities, and offers appropriate levels of clinical and emotional support.
