Hand Hygiene

Clean hands save lives
Hand hygiene means cleaning your hands either with an alcohol-based hand rub or with soap and water to help stop the spread of germs.

Why is hand hygiene important?
One of the easiest and most effective ways to avoid the spread of harmful germs is for all staff, patients and visitors to clean their hands.

Our commitment to you
Our staff take hand hygiene seriously because we know it helps to keep patients as safe and healthy as possible. You will see our staff clean their hands before and after touching each patient, before putting on gloves and after taking off the gloves.

Hand hygiene is everyone's business
When visiting the Sydney Dental Hospital or a Community Oral Health Clinic, we invite you to join us in the fight against infection by achieving the best hand hygiene possible. We provide hand rub and hand basins throughout our facilities so that everyone is able to clean their hands.
