About Sexual Health

The Sexual Health Clinic provides free and confidential testing and treatment for HIV and other sexually transmissible infections (STIs). The clinic is a confidential and free service. Medicare card is required to access the service.

The clinic sees:

  • Anyone experiencing STI symptoms
  • Anyone concerned they have been exposed to HIV
  • Gay men
  • People living with HIV
  • Sex workers
  • Aboriginal people
  • People who inject drugs

The clinic provides the following services:

  • Testing and treatment for STIs
  • Sexual health related counselling
  • Sexual health check-ups for gay men, sex workers and people who inject drugs
  • Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for people recently exposed to HIV
  • Free condoms and lubricant
  • Free hepatitis B vaccination
  • Free hepatitis A vaccination to gay men and people living with HIV and/or hepatitis C
  • Needle and syringe program
  • Interpreters available upon request
  • Evening clinics (Tuesday 4.30pm-7.30pm)
  • a[TEST] Newtown Clinic @ 222 King Street, Newtown (Monday and Tuesday, 4pm-7pm).
