RESEARCH
The integration of research and education is vital to the delivery of high quality healthcare services.
There is a strong commitment in Community Health to contribute to the evidence base for effective delivery of community health services.
While some of our services have a solid research culture, others are just beginning to build their knowledge and expertise in this area.
Community Health research is supported through the Community Health and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) Research Committees.
A range of research projects are conducted through formal partnerships with tertiary institutions including:
- University of New South Wales - Kirby Institute; Centre for Social Research in Health; Centre for Health Equity, Training, Research and Evaluation; Primary and Community Health Research Unit.
- University of Sydney
Other research is generated at a service level and/or in partnership with other relevant services, both government and non-government.
Research findings are published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at local, national and international conferences.
The most current research is presented annually at the SLHD Community Health Research Showcase Forum.
