Education and Support

Concord Haematology leads the way in blood cancer treatment and research and has a strong focus on providing education for patients and their families.

Haematology specialists also teach as part of the University of Sydney's academic staff, providing education for students, nurses and doctors at all levels.

Medical and nursing students are important members of the haematology treating team, with their knowledge and expertise improved by every interation with a patient. This is an essential part of Concord Hospital's success as a world-leading academic hospital.

Patients, their families, and medical staff attend educational seminars, lectures and forums, presented by specialists and experts in their respective fields. Patient Education Forums for Lymphoma, Myeloma and Waldenström's Macroglobulinaemia, with presentations from world leaders in these blood cancers have been very well-received on-site at the Concord Medical Education Centre.

Our aim is to provide ongoing educational opportunities throughout the year and to engage with relevant bodies that support our patients and our work.

Lymphoma, Myeloma and Waldenström's Macroglobulinaemia

The Haematology Department regularly hosts Patient Education Forums for patients with Lymphoma, Myeloma and Waldenström's Macroglobulinaemia and their families, with presentations from world-leaders in blood cancer treatment and research.
