The Sydney Cancer Survivorship Gym

The Survivorship gym is a small gym located in the hospital grounds for the use of cancer survivors. It plays a key role in helping survivors to make lifestyle changes. Our specially trained team members assist with improving fitness, strength, quality of life, and cancer-related fatigue or other treatment side effects.

The gym has special sessions for survivors:

  • to help improve their fitness prior to cancer surgery for a gastro-intestinal cancer,
  • undergoing chemotherapy,
  • who have completed chemotherapy for an early-stage cancer, and
  • with more advanced cancer.

Programs include an initial assessment with an exercise physiologist and supervised group classes. Referrals are essential.

The ENRICH program is a free 8-week lifestyle course (2 hours per week) on exercise and healthy eating.

The course is run by our dietitian and exercise physiologist together with the NSW Cancer Council. A family member can attend the program with you.
