About Innovation Week

Bringing people together to share ideas, imagine what’s possible and realise the future of healthcare.

Sydney Local Health District’s annual Innovation and Research Symposium continues to grow since its origin in 2013 with about 250 delegates.

Now in its eighth year, the Sydney Innovation and Research Symposium will focus on connection from 24-30 August, 2020

More than 3000 delegates registered and took part in Innovation Week 2019 - bringing together staff, clinicians, researchers, experts and partner organisations to connect and share ideas.

Over six days we hosted nine events featuring more than 120 presenters, showcasing the experience of our staff in caring for our patients and their families in Sydney Local Health District.

2019 events included:

  • A cuppa with a colleague
  • Patient and Family Experience Symposium
  • Women’s Leadership Breakfast
  • Care in our Community Forum
  • Clinical Trials Showcase
  • The Big Idea
  • Symposium Welcome Evening
  • Sydney Innovation and Research Symposium (including “The Pitch”)
  • Sydney Robotics Summit - Masterclass series

Innovation Week is held to foster collaboration and innovation as staff in Sydney Local Health District work toward our vision of achieving excellence in health and healthcare for all.

Innovation Week events showcase the work of our staff and the inspirational work they do each and every day as we care for our community. It is an opportunity for our staff and our partners to network, exchange ideas and hear from leaders in health and medical research, technology and innovation. It is an opportunity for training, development and to show how valued our staff are in Sydney Local Health District.
