Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease (CJD) Diagnosis We are a state-wide referral lab for suspected cases of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs), including CJD, Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI), Gerstmann–Sträussler–Scheinker (GSS), and variant CJD. We work closely with NSW Forensic Medicine Sydney, the NSW Ministry of Health, and the Australian National CJD Registry at the University of Melbourne. Diagnosis of suspected CJD cases takes around 4-6 months.
