Group Workshops are designed to teach new art and craft skills, offer team bonding exercises, provide a creative outlet and activate public spaces.
The workshops are delivered in the Level 3 Atrium of the RPA main building, where the natural light provides an open and inviting studio-like art space.
Group workshops are offered to RPA inpatient and outpatient groups and family and friends, as well as clinical and administrative staff.
Workshops of up to 30 people can be delivered in the Level 3 Atrium space. They are designed with a specific project outcome in mind. All materials are provided and the outcomes can be installed as a collaborative team work, or kept by the individual participants.
Workshops offered in other locations by request.
Our Chinwaggers workshops encourage stroke patients and their carers to get involved in art observation and art making. Each workshop focuses on a different Australian artist using a different medium.
A workshop run with the RPA Youth Team resulted in a large stencil work that is displayed in the Patient Discharge Lounge.
The Weaving into Wellbeing program, offered to patients and carers in Children Short Stay, Paediatric Emergency, Mothers and Babies and the Youth Department, created a creature collection now on display in the Children's Ward on level 9.
