Grants Management

The management of research grants is a responsibility of the Research Development Office (RDO) at RPA. It deals with all administrative, financial and legal aspects of externally-funded research within Sydney Local Health District.

The RDO facilitates the research efforts of SLHD staff by:

  • Assisting with applications for grants and fellowships
  • Providing advice and SLHD sign-off on all research grant applications to be administered within the SLHD
  • Arranging for negotiation of research grant agreements with the Medico-legal Officer
  • Providing beginning to end administration of externally awarded funds (including arranging sign-off on acceptance of award, ensuring all ethics and other clearances are in place, establishing trust account/s, invoicing the funding agency, liaising with the funding agency and submitting variations as necessary, ensuring all reporting requirements are met, and arranging the acquittance of the grant and closeout the project)
  • Liaising with funding bodies
  • Identifying and managing research funding risk

Contracts and Intellectual Property

The Clinical Research Centre can assist researchers with queries relating to contracts (material transfer agreements, MOU's etc) and Intellectual Property matters.
