Aged Care & Rehabilitation Services

Inpatient Hospital Care

Inpatient care is care that is delivered once a person has been admitted to hospital. Hospitals across the District provide a range of different in-patient services for older people and people requiring rehabilitation. The type of service available at each hospital varies, although every hospital will treat older people.

Specialised inpatient services include:
  • Aged Care Units;
  • Psychogeriatric Units (for older people with mental health issues);
  • Rehabilitation Units;
These units are staffed with a range of medical, allied health and nursing professionals who are experienced in caring for people who are older and/or have complex medical problems.
