Protecting your Rights

The Law Access Centre (1300 888 529) is an organisation you can call when you aren’t sure what type of legal support you are entitled to, or who best to talk to about your particular circumstances. They can link you with the closest and best service to meet your needs.
The Aged Care Rights Service, NSW (TARS) provides independent advice and advocacy for:
  • people living in residential aged care facilities;
  • people living in self- care retirement villages;
  • people living at home with in-home service support .
 More information is also available by phoning TARS on 9281 3600.
In addition, the Older Persons' Legal and Education Program is a partnership between Legal Aid NSW  and TARS aimed at improving older persons' access to legal services through advice, assistance, advocacy representation and education.
