Welcome to the Sydney Local Health District orientation program. SLHD is committed to providing a high quality, comprehensive orientation program that welcomes new employees to the organisation.

Welcome Video for New Staff

Our orientation program has four components which are outlined below. These components all provide an introduction to:

  • Our organisation
  • Our vision, mission and values
  • Our strategic goals and governance, and
  • Our specialist support and patient services

Orientation Process / Components

  1. Online orientation pathway commences once you are employed (part A within four weeks – Part B must be completed within three to six months)
  2. One day face-to-face orientation for new employees.
  3. Departmental orientation (SLHD Departmental Orientation Checklist must be used and original returned to the facility HR Department).
  4. Nursing and Midwifery orientation – additional day for nurses (including Assistants in Nursing) and midwives.
