Concord Hospital Redevelopment

Concord Redevelopment

In June 2017, the NSW Government announced a $341 million redevelopment to build a new clinical services building at Concord Hospital.

The redevelopment will provide additional inpatient capacity and outpatient services for the growing local community including:

  • New Aged Care, Complex Care and Rehabilitation Service including rehabilitation gyms, assessment and therapy areas
  • New comprehensive Cancer Care Centre
  • The nation’s first Defence Force Centre of Excellence to continue the hospital’s long and proud history of providing specialist services to veterans.
  • New hospital logistics system
  • Improved access with dedicated drop-off zone for patients attending the cancer centre, rehabilitation and ambulatory care services

Enabling Works On-site

Enabling works to prepare the site for construction are continuing. These works include refurbishment of existing buildings on the campus and relocation of staff and non-clinical services out of buildings which will be prepared for demolition.

Enabling works are expected to be completed in late 2018.

Community Consultation Sessions - February 2018

The project team has been consulting with the community, clinicians and staff about the design and features of the new building and services, ensuring it meets the needs of patients, families and community in continuing to provide world-class health care.

Two consultation sessions will be held in February 2018 to provide an opportunity for further feedback and allow members of the community to view the redevelopment master plan, design concepts and ask questions to the Sydney Local Health District project team.
