CHILD NUTRITION

About

Child nutrition services provide consultations for babies and children who are above or below the healthy weight range. We also see children for common issues such as iron deficiency anaemia and cow’s milk dairy intolerance.

What age groups do you see?

Children from birth – starting school.

How can I access your service?

Telephone the Child Health Information Link (CHIL) on 9562 5400 (select option 2).

Where can I access your service?

Our services are provided in Community Health Centres. We also see families in some playgroups in Sydney Local Health District.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please bring your child’s Blue Book (Personal Health Record) to every appointment.

What can I expect for my appointment?

When you arrive at the Community Health Centre you will be greeted by the receptionist. This person will let your Early Childhood Dietitian know that you have arrived.

During the appointment, your Early Childhood Dietitian will assess your child’s growth. They will discuss any nutrition related concerns you have and provide you with some practical strategies to improve your child’s nutrition.

Early Childhood Dietitians aim to work in partnership with you and your family to achieve the best nutrition related health outcomes for your child.

Who will I meet at my appointment?

You will meet your Early Childhood Dietitian.
