What is Hospital in The Home?
Hospital in the Home or HITH is a specialised service of Sydney Local Health District. The service is provided at each of our Hospitals Balmain, Canterbury, Concord and Royal Prince Alfred in partnership with Sydney District Nursing.
HITH can provide you with acute care treatment either at your home or office, at the HITH clinic located on the hospital grounds or at a community-based Sydney District Nursing clinic.
This service can reduce your stay in hospital or provide a safe alternative to hospital admission.
Patients admitted to the HITH service remain inpatients of the Hospital under the care of the HITH Medical Specialist.
There are no additional costs to you for the care provided when you are treated by our HITH team.
