The Sydney Local Health District Nursing & Midwifery Research team are committed to promote research and evidence based practice to support the effectiveness of nursing and midwifery care and enhance patient and family centred outcomes.
The SLHD Nursing and Midwifery Research team are affiliated with the University of Sydney, Sydney Research and have strong collaborations with local, national and international organisations.
The research activities are aligned with the SLHD Nursing & Midwifery Service strategic priorities and the Sydney LHD research strategic plan which inform the strategic directions for clinical practice, workforce, information & communication technology and research.

In 2017 we commenced a two year Nursing Research Graduate Honours Program, providing an opportunity for graduate nurses to gain skills and knowledge in nursing research whilst undertaking a Transition to Professional Practice program. The Nursing Research Graduate Honours Program will allow Graduate Nurses to work in a part-time capacity whilst advancing their knowledge, skills and experience of nurses/midwives in research and evidence-based practice.
