Collaboration divides the tasks and multiplies the success
The IAS is dedicated to enhancing the integration of surgical research and education within surgical and non-surgical departments at RPA, and with key partners across the campus. By facilitating greater collaborations, it is envisaged that a unified research and education strategy for the entire precinct will be developed.
The IAS takes a 'more the merrier' approach and welcomes all students and staff members interested in surgical research or education to get involved in the work of the Institute including:
- Getting in contact with a member of the IAS Executive team to have a discussion about opportunities within the Institute
- Attending an IAS event that includes information evenings, workshops, and research and education awards
- Developing a corporate partnership to assist the IAS in achieving its goals
- Making a donation to ensure that our surgical staff can meet the challenges of the future
Support the IAS
The Institute of Academic Surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is committed to developing surgical staff through training and research opportunities so that they have the knowledge and experience to provide the highest standards of care to our patients.
Surgery is a highly technical, demanding and constantly evolving discipline, which requires surgical staff to undertake life-long learning and to be up-to-date on the latest treatment options, surgical techniques, teaching methods and emerging research.
There are many different options for providing support to the IAS including sponsoring a surgical fellow, funding the appointment of key staff such as an academic surgeon, nursing researcher or research officer, supplying critical educational resources or assisting the IAS in holding information evenings and workshops.
Donations do not need to be huge sums of money to make a difference. A gift, whatever the amount, will help the IAS to support the RPA surgical departments to pioneer best surgical practice and patient care.
To ensure that our surgical staff can meet the challenges of the future please consider making a donation to support the Institute of Academic Surgery.
