Sydney Local Health District is taking steps to protect our staff, our patients and our community against any potential transmission of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Some antenatal visits will be done using telephone or video conferencing.
Online Childbirth and Parenting education programs covering pregnancy, birth, parenting and breastfeeding are available. The Zoom classes allow for questions and interaction and cost will vary depending on the course you wish to attend and time of day.
COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for women for are pregnant (at any stage), breastfeeding or planning pregnancy. Please discuss any questions or concerns with your midwife or doctor.
If you are pregnant, you may be worried about how COVID-19 could affect you and your baby.
We encourage you to talk with your midwife or doctor about any worries or questions.

You can continue to breast feed if you have suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
Sydney Local Health District offers breastfeeding support from your very first antenatal visit. Breastfeeding support is provided free of charge and is available during your stay in hospital and postnatally within the community. Breastfeeding (nsw.gov.au)
