Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
RPA Museum & Archives

Welcome to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Heritage Centre, Museum and Archives.

The Heritage Centre is made up of three branches, working together to collect, record and preserve the history of one Australia's largest, busiest and best hospitals.

Our Museum is freely open to the public and features displays on themes related to nursing, medicine and social history. We also organise historical displays and projects around the Hospital. The Archives actively collects material related to the history of RPA and our people. We have a small collection of material related to other organisations. The records span from 1868 to the present. Our Library holds nursing and medical texts from the 19th Century to the 1970s as well as an impressive collection of material related to the history of healthcare in Australia, the history of nursing and histories of other organisations.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Museum is always willingly to share our long and proud history with our community in shaping our health care service, however our service is focused on assisting research projects for staff within Sydney Local Health District.
Thank you for your interest.

Please note that we do not hold patient records that date after 1908. For access to all patient records, please contact Medical Records on 9515 8101 and visit Your Right To Information for further information.
