Look Good... Feel Better
Look Good… Feel Better is a free community service program that aims to help cancer patients cope with the appearance related side-effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy such as hair loss and changes to the skin.
The program provides useful strategies on how to manage these side-effects and help restore their appearance and self image. This includes teaching skin care and make up tips as well as demonstrations on the correct use of wigs, hats, scarves and turbans.
The Look Good…Feel Better program is available to all women, men and teenagers who are undergoing, or about to undergo, chemotherapy or radiotherapy for any type of cancer.
The workshop is run by specially trained and experienced beauty professions who volunteer their time to help run the program. It is a once off, 2 1/2 hour program and is held at most major hospitals across Australia, including here at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
