School Students

NSW School students may have the opportunity to make a start on training for a career in the health sector before they leave school, while still completing their HSC.

NSW Health RTO (Provider Number 90198) offers Board Developed VET Courses (including Industry Curriculum Frameworks), which have optional exams and consequently may contribute towards a student’s ATAR. The Externally Delivered VET (EVET) Program is offered to both government and non-government school students, through the NSW Department of Education’s EVET Website.

The RTO currently delivers the Human Services, Nursing 360hr course program (Assisting in nursing work in acute care) to students undertaking HLT33115 - Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. In 2020 the RTO has been approved to deliver the HLT33015 - Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance at the Nepean Hospital Campus only.

All students will need to undertake professional placements in a Local Health District hospital. Students must attend placement as it is a requirement to gain the Certificate. Placements may be held during the School Holidays.

How to Apply

If you are considering a NSW Health RTO EVET Course Programs please contact the appropriate Local Health District Schools Coordinator to find out the dates of Information Sessions and interviews.
