Hundreds of people connect at exhibition centre during Innovation Week 2022
The Sydney Connect Exhibition Centre was a nexus of collaboration at the Sydney Innovation and Research Symposium held during Innovation Week 2022.
Hundreds of people connected, relaxed and discovered more about Sydney Local Health District and health, technology, education and research partners. They enjoyed merchandise stalls and giveaways, food and refreshments and educational displays.
At the centre was the interactive Tree of Hope, where people tied their messages of hope for a bright future.
The Capital Infrastructure and Engineering display was a walk through the District’s past and into the future of care through the District’s healthcare facilities.
Over 2-3 June, researchers and research partners met at the Centre to discuss each other’s work through University of Sydney, Centenary Institute, Sydney Research, and Sydney Institute for Women, Children and their Families. Sydney Research’s fortune cookies, with research-themed messages, were a hit.
The National Centre for Veterans’ Healthcare stall demonstrated some of the special ways the District cares for its community and veterans.
The Aboriginal Health stall showcased the every-day ways the District participates in culturally-sensitive healthcare. Artist Lee Hampton created a new piece, generously sharing his artistic process with people who had the chance to see how a new artwork evolves over time.
Microsoft and tech partners Five Faces, Alcidion, Perx Health and Vocera were all in the Digital Health space, joining the District team to talk about shaping the future of digital health together.
There was a draw to win a Sonos Wireless Speaker (valued at $599), provided by tech partner Five Faces. Another lucky winner collected a Microsoft surface Laptop Studio i5/16/256 from Microsoft (valued at $2,399). Microsoft is one of the District’s digital health partners and provide support through their insights into the future of digital health.
HESTA was on site to answer questions about superannuation, and Smart Salary provided expert tips on salary packaging and Hills Health showcased the newest in patient entertainment and engagement.
VOIP, Alcatel and Digital Health CRC also provided support.
It was a great event, fuelled by coffee sponsored by Hesta, Capital Insight and COS Group and giveaways from 13 Cabs.
