A decade of providing care for patients and their loved ones
The Concord Centre for Mental Health is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.
Mental Health Services moved from the much loved Callan Park site to a new purpose built location at Concord in 2008.
Director of Operations and Corporate Governance (Mental Health) Dion Peru said the move provided us with a new home suitable for contemporary mental health facilities.
"Moving onto a shared site with Concord Hospital while maintaining tranquil surrounds allowed us for the first time to ensure that the physical and mental health needs of our patients are cared for," Mr Peru said.
"Mental health clients now have access to the labs, clinics, diagnostics and general health services available.
"The change in practice has helped us to improve outcomes for not only our clients but also their families and loved ones," he said.
Dr Teresa Anderson, Chief Executive, Sydney Local Health District said the anniversary was an important time for staff and clients to come together to acknowledge the care provided to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
"Our staff are dedicated and do an incredible job each and every day and I'd like to thank them for their service," she said.
