Home and Away at PMBC
Behind-the-scenes filming with popular Channel 7 drama
Our mental health facilities will be on show in homes around the country and around the world after the Professor Marie Bashir Centre was used as the setting for a number of scenes in the popular Channel 7
drama Home and Away
Members of the cast and crew filmed on location at the centre in June, working closely with Sydney Local Health District's Mental Health Operations Director Dion Puru to ensure the script gave a true reflection of mental health services.
The scenes involve characters Dean (Patrick O'Connor) and Colby (Tim Franklin) as they try to track down Colby's missing mother.
Our Chief Executive Teresa Anderson said she was delighted when the Home and Away production team asked if they could film in PMBC.
"Incorporating the provision of mental health care into a popular drama like Home and Away helps to break down stereotypes and provide a greater understanding within the community," she said.
The scenes are due to air Thursday November 15 and Monday November 18.
