CE Dr Teresa Anderson among District staff honoured.

We are very proud to announce our Chief Executive and three of our leading clinicians are among those being recognised for their outstanding service or exceptional achievement in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Dr Teresa Anderson has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).

Dr Anderson has been recognised for service to community health, and to public administration in NSW, as a clinician, manager and health service executive.

Professor Andrew McLachlan, Head of School and Dean of Pharmacy at the University of Sydney and Concord Hospital has also been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).

Professor McLachlan has been recognised for significant service to pharmacy as a researcher, educator and administrator, and to professional medical and scientific organisations.

Clinical Associate Professor Michael Cooper has been awarded a Medal in the General Division (OAM) for service to medicine in the field of gynaecology.

Assoc Prof Cooper is a Visiting Medical Officer and Head of Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, a position he has held since 1996.

Association Professor Paul McKenzie has also been awarded a Medal in the General Division (OAM) for service to medicine, particularly to anatomical pathology.

He is a Senior Staff Specialist in Tissue Pathology and Diagnostic Oncology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Chair, Anatomical Pathology Clinical Stream, NSW Health.

The Order of Australia is the principal and most prestigious means of recognising outstanding members of the community at a national level.

The awards and appointments were announced by the Governor-General and Chancellor of the Order of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd).

Recipients will be invited to attend investitures around Australia in the coming months to receive the insignia of their appointment/award.
