As part of the 2017 Sydney Innovation and Research Symposium, Sydney Local Health District and The University of Sydney, co-sponsored the inaugural event held on 22 June 2017.
Expert speakers at the Big Idea event highlighted the importance of research commercialisation, identified key considerations and provided advice to Sydney Research members across the precinct.
As part of the challenge, the expert judging panel awarded up to $44,125 pre-seed funding for the winner of the Big Idea to reach the next stage of commercialising their idea.
Dr Gerard Sutton’s team at the Save Sight Institute, University of Sydney were successful with their Corneal BioPen.
