HOW TO ACCESS OUR PROGRAM
These are the steps that you need to follow if you are concerned about your fertility and wish to access our program.
- Get a referral from your General Practitioner (GP)
- Telephone to arrange an appointment in the Fertility clinic. The number for making or changing an appointment is 02 9515 8824. When you ring this number, you may be requested to leave your contact details and a call will be returned to you. Both partners will be required to attend this appointment
- Attend your Fertility clinic appointment. Fertility clinics are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm – 4.30pm. The purpose of your clinic appointment is to investigate, review and plan the appropriate treatment for you. At your first appointment you will be asked questions about your reproductive health. You and your partner will be sent for investigations including blood tests, a sperm test and an ultrasound. You will be required to return to clinic to get the results of these investigations. If IVF is the recommended treatment, you will book to attend a nursing interview. The time from your first appointment to your nursing interview can take many weeks.
- Attend your Nursing Interview. The purpose of the nursing interview is to provide you and your partner with information about IVF. At this appointment the nurse will discuss with you:
- Medications used in the treatment cycle including their side-effects;
- Potential risks of treatment;
- Costs;
- Timetable of treatment;
- Consents;
- Expected outcomes.
It is also an opportunity for us to answer your questions or concerns. Please allow 90 minutes for this appointment.
