Inductory Program for Intensive Care Services

The Inductory Program (IP) provides a comprehensive introductory phase for registered nurses with limited experience in the intensive care setting. RPAH Intensive Care Service (ICS) offers an employment program for registered nurses with less than 12 months demonstrated experience in Intensive Care. The IP incorporates a structured employment and educational framework. Positions are available in the General ICU/HDU, Cardio-thoracic ICU and Neurosurgical ICU. The educational component includes; learning packages with generic ICU and specialty specific focus, clinical teaching and workshops.

Essential criteria:

• Current NSW nurses registration List A
• 12 months or greater acute medical / surgical experience (NG program inclusive)
• Less than 12 months Intensive Care experience
• Expression of desire to work in the ICU environment
• Sound clinical performance in general wards
• Ability to adapt to dynamic and fast paced environment
• Commitment to excellence in nursing care
• Excellent communication skills
