Aboriginal Workforce



This artwork depicts Sydney Local Health District Aboriginal Workforce. The Aboriginal Workforce Unit is the connection to Community.
The painting represents the District working with Aboriginal people for the Aboriginal community.

The bronze centre circle and the lines going out and the bronze circles represent the District and it's many facilities.

The red circles in the centre circle and on the rest of the painting is the Aboriginal workforce, threaded throughout the District working and connecting with community.

The painting reiterates the importance of working together to make change as Aboriginal Workforce is 'Every Body's Business'

Ms Leona McGrath - Artist
Leona is a very proud Aboriginal woman is a mother, a grandmother, an artist and a midwife. Leona grew up in Sydney in the suburbs of Redfern and Waterloo so this is her home. Leona is originally from Queensland from the Woppaburra People, who are her grandmother's people, from Great Keppel Island and the Kuku Yalanji People which is up far north Queensland.


In accordance with Aboriginal custom and protocol, we pay our respect to the Elders and descendants both past and present who are the custodians of the land on which we live and work: EORA NATION
