Aboriginal Workforce

Daniel McDonald

"My Story I am an Aboriginal man born in Dharruk and grew up in the Eora Nation. I am an Administration Officer at Sydney Dental Hospital. Before coming to this position I had worked in many different positions and was successful in obtaining an Administration Traineeship. Once the traineeship was completed I was placed in a position in the Human Resource Department at SSWAHD for two years. I was transferred in to the administration role in the X-ray Department of the Sydney Dental Hospital in 2009. Although my job is challenging at times it continues to be an exciting journey for me as I get to meet other Aboriginal workers throughout the day. I currently belong to the First People Disability Network and I am the co -founder of 'Deadly Hand Talk' which means communicating with your hands. Once my hands tell the story I paint it with dots."
