Education and research

All specialists are committed to the highest standards of teaching and training. They contribute to the RPA Basic Physician Training program and to medical student teaching for the Central Clinical School of the University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine and Health. RPA Hospital has a long and proud tradition of training in the specialties of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. The support we provide to the hospital means that our trainees are exposed to a wide variety of pathogens and infections that can be expected from a level six tertiary referral inner metropolitan hospital. They acquire the experience and skills necessary to work in a complex clinical environment including clinical governance, patient quality and safety, antimicrobial stewardship, infection control and prevention, clinical coordination and communication.
