For Patients

If your doctor has referred you to the RPA Dermatology clinic, we will need your referral to be sent to us so that our doctors can assess the nature and urgency of the referral and find the most appropriate clinic appointment for you.

Who We See

We prioritise appointments for patients with urgent and severe skin conditions that need hospital outpatient review. We regret that we do not have capacity to offer routine skin and mole checks, cosmetic dermatology or general surgery for benign cysts. Our department is only able to see patients 16 years of age and older.

Bulk Billing Option

As a patient of RPA, you can choose whether you would like us to Medicare bulk bill you for your consultation, or if you prefer for us not to bulk bill you. Bulk billing helps our department to fund additional clinics, equipment and research. In order for us to bulk bill, we need a referral from your doctor which is addressed to (any one of) our consultant dermatologists. For all patients with Medicare, there is no charge to you for visiting our department.
