We are a busy orthopaedic clinic and do our best to keep waiting times as short as possible.  However, sometimes delays are unavoidable and waiting times to see the doctor may occur due to the following reasons:

• emergency cases may need to be seen
• the doctor may be delayed or called away
• the doctor may need to spend extra time with patients.

On arrival

Please present your appointment card to the reception desk so they can confirm your details and book you into the clinic.  You are then asked to sit in the waiting room until the doctor calls for you.

You may be sent for an X-ray or other tests.

Referral to the Clinic

• Need to see your local doctor to get a referral and a X-ray to see an orthopaedic surgeon

Following Surgery

• If you had an operation your follow up may include an appointment in the outpatient orthopaedic department.
• Generally the ward will make the appointment for you before you leave, on some occasions you will need to make your own appointment.

Fracture Clinic

• Referrals are made from the emergency department.
