About UsWelcome to the Concord Hospital Research Office website. The Research Office supports the work of the Sydney Local Health District Human Research Ethics Committee – Concord Repatriation General Hospital. There are two offices serving the research community of the SLHD, located at Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. Both offices are accredited and certified by the NHMRC and the NSW Ministry of Health to approve studies under the mutual acceptance scheme and provide ethical clearance for multi-centre studies. The Sydney Local Health District is home to a vast number of researchers and deals with some of the most complex cases in NSW and Australia. Our researchers are amongst the top-ranked in the world and therefore research ethics and governance is paramount. Staff at the ethics offices have a combined experience of over 30 years and provide expert advice for a wide range of activities; ethics, governance, accessing medical records, research integrity, training, ethics of clinical practice, etc. This website explains the process a researcher must follow to undertake research in the Sydney Local Health District. All research involving humans should conform to the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2025) and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research 2018. The office also provides guidance and assistance to researchers wishing to undertake projects. Guidelines for submitting a research proposal to Concord Hospital can be found by clicking on How to Apply The Ethics documents and templates can be found under Forms The Human Research Ethics Application (HREA) form can be accessed via the REGIS website. This website should answer most of your questions concerning your research project but if you need any further assistance please give us a call or send us an e-mail via Contact Us. |
