Special Care Dentistry is a referral centre concerned with the oral health care of adults who present with additional, complex needs.
Our aim is to provide accessible dental services in an equitable and respectful manner to persons with disabilities.
We offer a range of sensory tools and specialised equipment to assist during your visit.
Treatment can be provided under local anaesthetic, Relative Analgesia (Happy Gas), and General Anaesthetic.

Telehealth: You will be contacted before your first visit by one of the dental team to ask you questions about yourself and your lifestyle, your family/support network, and your health and medications.
Face to face appointment:
Once telehealth is completed you will be offered a face to face appointment for a dental assessment. At this appointment we will carry out a dental examination and this may include x rays, gum assessment, and diet history and together with you we will develop your treatment plan. Your dental treatment will be delivered and we will also focus on how to prevent dental diseases.
Follow up care:
You may be offered follow up care and recall dependent on your individual needs. Please note that this is not available to all patients who are referred and will be assessed by your complexity and treatment needs.
