Our Services

Our diagnostic services encompass a number of clinical specialties including oncology, endocrinology, respiratory, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, rheumatology and cardiology. Our therapeutic services focus on iodine therapy for thyroid cancer or thyrotoxicosis, lipiodol therapy for liver malignancy and yttrium therapy for certain rheumatic diseases.

The department participates in a number of oncology research trials and is actively involved in clinical research with a number of allied health/medical services.

The mission of the Department of Nuclear and Molecular Imaging is to provide 'Excellence in Diagnostic Imaging and Radioisotope Therapeutic services'. This is achieved by providing a portfolio of clinical services to Veteran's Affairs beneficiaries, patients of the Sydney Local Health District, the local community and any other persons requiring the special services we are able to provide. Liaison with surgeons, physicians, general practitioners and other care providers will facilitate a continuity of health care delivered with a superior level of expertise.
